When Jevunlok is seated by the brazier, I go to sit with him. After pleasantries, I say, "What is the correct title for me to use with you?"

"Initiate." Jevunlok smiles. "It sounds worse than it is. Everyone below the Council of Nine Druids in Vadalia is considered an 'initiate'. And there can be only nine druids in a geographic region... and Vadalia is vast." He glances over at you as he warms his hands. "And you're Mairywn, but do you have a title? You seem to know the prince."

"'Initiate' sounds rather important to me," I say, laughing a little. "And I am called Mairwyn of Ravenwood." I suspect he will understand what that means, so I wait to hear his response.

Jevunlok stops rubbing his hands and stares at you. "You must be joking." Then he blushes. "Oh I'm sorry. Don't take that the wrong way. I just mean... you're so young!"

I smile. "Actually, that is very flattering, so how could I take it amiss? I did just graduate, to be fair." He looks so sweet and kind, and I hope dearly that Cousin Cian isn't just toying with him.

"And what have you learned at Ravenwood?"

I say, "I am an Enchantress, though an initiate one." I twinkle my eyes at him. "My specialty is making people like me... But while I was at Ravenwood, I heard from a Sentinel--a Vadal, actually--about a druidic magick called the Log of Everburning. Do you know it?"

Jevunlok laughs. "You need no magic to make people like you." Then he looks you over. "Unless you used magic to make yourself so pretty." He thinks a moment as he stares into the fire. "Well, yes, I know the spell, actually, but I cannot teach it to you."

I shake my head. "No, I don't actually study shapechanging or alteration of myself. As an Enchantress, I prefer for people to like me as I am." Then I say seriously, "I know that you cannot teach me the spell. It is a gift of the gods to you. Alaxton and Abrexa touch you, and their grace produces the gift. But if you could show me, help me to see the way the gift works, I would like to try to learn to reproduce some of it, in my own way. I know that sometimes the magic of mages and the magic of the priests can overlap--cannot you also create light, as we can?--and I would like to learn to do something similar, but in my own way."
I want the spell to be as continual as my light spells are, but I do not mention that yet.

Jevunlok casts the spell in the brazier before him, and you see the everburning log. [Spellcraft check at -2]

(Made the check by 20, rolled a 6, and my check is 26!)
I admire his work. "That is marvelous," I say, and I mean it. There is something attractive about the freedom with which a priest can simply use his magic fearlessly.

As you study it, an idea forms in your brilliant little mind. To craft your own version of this spell, you will need an undying "natural" heat source. [roll Knowledge: Dragons]

"Oh!" I say, thinking...

Dragon cults are known for having in their "holy place" a censer in which burns coals heated by dragon fire. These coals never grow cool. If you could get a hold of one, there would be your initial component necessary for the crafting of your new spell.
"And what is your pretty little head puzzling?" Jevunlok asks.

"I am thinking of a way to create a spell," I say honestly. "I need something to provide the initial 'spark', so to speak, for the creation of the spell. But the only place I can think of that would have it is back in Nirrion City." For that is the only location I know of for a Dragon cult!
