"I am ready" I say as I put a bit of leather between my teeth.

For a few minutes, the pain is excruciating, but it's not long before your face goes numb, most likely out of boredom at being in so much pain. It's a strange sensation. You whisper your spells to Anthiel, and you feel his blessing flow into the ink and into your tattoo, and after several hours, you rise, muscles stiff, from your chair. Muluc shows you your reflection in a plate of polished brass. The design is one built on a motif of small sections of extremely ordered patterns, but these patterns shatter into beautiful chaos, only to coalesce once again. You see the pattern in the chaos.
"Well?" Muluc asks with anxiety.

"Muluc my artist friend, you have outdone yourself!" I enthusiastically clap him on the shoulder. "What more can I do for you friend? You've earned something more."

Muluc takes your hand and stares into your eyes. "I've never been with an Elunian before."

"Muluc my friend, I would gladly do you a myriad of favors or provide you with some form of divine blessing but in Elunia we do not settle debts with our bodies. I am flattered but is there some other service or gift I might offer?"

Muluc lets go of your hand and looks downcast, but he rallies his spirits and forces a smile. "You said you'd teach me about your god."

"Indeed, I would be very glad to do so. I will start by telling you that you have captured his spirit very well with your art. You see, life begins in order, explodes into disarray and is finally reshaped into a new order. My god blesses his servants to see where order must be broken, allows us to orchestrate the disorder and finally things are made right. Think of the priest of Nenetl. They are ordered in the way they serve but is their order not corrupted? You yourself bore the humiliation and burden of service to them. That is such an order that needs to be disrupted so that an appropriate new order might be restored. And as a servant of my god, I bring and live in the chaos of the in-between."

"I know of the gods," Muluc says, "but I don't remember any of this. Are you speaking of the gods I know?"

“This is not a god that you know. This .is a god the knowledge of whom has been shut away from the world. I-a god who has been pushed aside So that the other gods My reign unopposed. But this action has caused stagnation and corruption in this world. Like a stagnant pool the waters must be stirred. Knowledge of my God must be reawoken To bring about justice.”

Muluc nods, not understanding. "And his name?"

“That is not something I’m prepared to divulge until when or if you decide to follow. Trust me Muluc, this more for your sake than mine. Think on it. If you wish to hear more, I will share. And if you decide to follow you will be blessed.”

"I have no love for Nenetl or her priestesses. I am ready to follow your god!"

[what would be an appropriate way of initiating him as a follower?]

"Very well. Muluc, I do not ask you to kneel because you do not give obedience to me, you give it to Anthiel. You are not answerable to me. You are answerable to Anthiel. I do not ask you to take an oath. Oaths to deities belong with the lesser gods of this world. In your actions you will be rewarded or punished by Anthiel. You serve no code or creed other than to serve Chaos. I will not order you or command you anything. If anyone commands you in the name of Anthiel they are a false priest. From this point on you are to seek to foment chaos, to disrupt the comfortable structures of this world, to show them how thin their rules, laws and rulers are. You should not show favor but nor should you show disfavor. You should not prefer violence nor should you prefer non-violence. Each action or non-action is a tool that serves Chaos. In each encounter, ask yourself 'What would Anthiel do?' [wah, wah, wah I know but I just had to. Should I give him a WWAD? bracelet?] It is entirely possible that someday you and I find ourselves at cross-purposes with one another. I do not expect you to defer to me, you defer to Anthiel even if it means you take my life or I take yours because such is the way of Chaos." I hand him a coin and a knife. I cast Random Casualty on myself. Then I cast Ebony Hand on myself. To him, my hand is encased in a black non-light. Then I cast Regenerate Light Wounds on him. "To demonstrate your dedication to Anthiel, flip this coin. If it lands with the face up, I want you stab me." I spread my hands out to my side indicating this is not combat but ritual.
