"It was the natural evolution of following Nistaran's command," says the Magister. "It will be my duty one day to take my paterfamilias' place as Pontifex Maximus. Which means I must strive to be worthy of that honor. I imagine it is the same for the Zenji Kings."

"It is indeed the same for our rulers. Every son, for all his power, lives in the shadow of his father. Never in fear, for that is not the path of wisdom, nor of true rulership. Rather in awe, and under the weight of the high responsibility that is his, to never drop the sword that has passed to him through all of the history of the line of kings. To never falter, to never waiver, to never bend, to never swerve, to never yield, to never submit, to never compromise, until he himself passes what was never his to the next in line fit to bear it."

"Wisdom is wisdom," says Magister Judal, "whether found in Nirrion or in Ithatadora, and it will bear the same pleasing shape in both."

"Indeed it is, and indeed it will," I say, continually impressed by this amazing youth.

The slaves move you from the massage tables to a cooling pool of your choice.
"What is your pleasure, Masters?" asks the slave who opens the door. "The Sundel Springs? The Elunian Cove? The Vadal Floes?"

"Perhaps we should try The Elunian Cove? Caoimhghin can let us know if we have captured the essence of his homeland. How does this sound?

"I look forward to it, but I assume it won't have the salty sea blasts that ravage our rocky northern coasts. So much the better for the bathing experience!"

"Then let us to the Elunian Cove."

"At once, Masters." The bath attendant leads you to an underground pool, where rocks and crags have been set up around a pool of salt water.
"It is actual sea-water," says the attendant proudly. "Shipped in from Rania."
Some of the rocks nearest the edge of the pool have conveniently flat areas, smooth enough for sitting on comfortably, while dangling one's feet in the water.
"Will you have some Elunian honeymead?" offers the attendant.

Elunian honeymead is provided for all four of you, and the Magister sips his appreciatively.
"The question of native alcohol is a curious one. In Nirrion, it is wine, always. In Ithatadora, I have heard that it is beer?" He glances at Anak-Sa'ir. "Is that accurate? And in Elunia, is it honeymead always? Or is that the Skenje view of Elunia?"

"Honeymead is the most traditional, yes, which is probably why the reputation made its way to Nirrion. But we also enjoy beer, and to be honest, our spring water is so clear and pure that we enjoy that, too."

The attendants refill Anak-Sa'ir's mead horn as the Magister says, "I should like someday to see such far-off vistas as the Elunian coves and the Zenji dunes. They seem to me to express a wildness that is absent in the Skenje countrysides."
