"Yes, that's it! I knew it was a weird bird. Like pigeons. Should I bring them in, Dominus?"

"No no no. Kestal, would you accompany me? You know the Cygnets! Why they'd all be here making a fuss is beyond me."

"Of course." I keep my heightened senses attuned and try to hear what's being said before we get to them.

"Oh, Caoimhghin, darling!" Jayadeva's hands are shaking as he holds them out to you. "We had no idea where to go or what to do!"
Melius adds, "We'd been out last night, drinking, and well, we visited the Sword and Sheath, and..."
Maximus carries it on. "It was after ten o'clock when we got back to Desolation Row. And we went down to ask Petronius if wanted any bread. I needed some to deal with this wicked hangover--"
"And Petronius was hacked to pieces!" exclaims Belu. "In bits! Everywhere!"
"We looked for Anak-Sa'ir," says Jayadeva, "but we couldn't find him at all!"

"What? What!" I look at Kestal. "What?!"

"What?!? Why would someone want to kill Petronius? We must go there now."

"He's just gone!" says Jayadeva.
"We even checked the Prian and the Bosan!" Melius is nearly crying.

"Wait." I hold out my hand, and then I shift my senses through the Otherplace. "Remember," I say distractedly, "all places are one." I try to locate Anak. He is known to me, so I should be able to see him.

You do not find him. Anywhere. At all.

"Before we go to Desolation Row, I need to talk to Qadir." Without waiting I head back inside to find him.

He must be shielded. Or... dead. "A moment, Cygnets." I pull Kestal aside. "I can't see Anak! I should be able to see him. That means he's either shielded or... no longer on Kailos." I glance around. "Is it possible he... passed over?" I shiver.

"There are a few things I can do. Let me talk to Qadir first. Be patient. Haste will not serve us."

You know where Qadir is, for Caoimhghin knows where Sindre's harp currently is.
(Assuming you are Peering) When you walk into the receiving chamber, which looks like a crystal cave, with three comfortable divans, and a three meter-tall statue of Silini, you see Qadir, calmly sitting on the bed.
"Haruspex?"

"Hello Qadir, we have a problem. Petronius has been killed and Anak Sa'ir is missing. Are you able to see Anak Sa'ir?"

"Why would I be able to see him?" asks Qadir. "I have not left this place, nor have I passed beyond the Gate to be able to see if he had died?"
