We walk on a bit. "The Necropolis is where all vampire society is. That's where all vampires truly live. Here, just a bit of an expedition for them, really. Problem is, it's both part of Kailos and not. It's beyond the Otherplace of my studies. We'd have to take a portal to get there. Actually, I've been invited. Anak and I, actually, some time ago. We just hadn't gone yet." I'm rambling.

"Can we go? Can Sindre get us in?"

"Good question! I'd have to ask." I thumb toward my litter. "Shall we return?"

"I must see to Petronius. We can't leave this for someone else." (What's the protocol for something like this? I imagine we'd need a wake here at the Row?)

Alwin sees you indicating your litter and comes darting up. "I got some fruit from upstairs for you, Dominus," he says. "For the litter-ride back."

You could perform the appropriate rites yourself.
The body would need to be burned. Petronius was a Skenje, after all.

I get into my litter with my bodyslaves. "All right, then, Haruspex," I call out, "I'll catch up with you later." And I leave.

"We'll do this proper. Is there somewhere we can lay him out for the service? Fetch a table. Jax, can you secure us wood?" (Is it proper to burn him here or is there a specific location?)

It will take you a good two hours to do the rites and burn the body. You could do it here, but it would be a bit of a hack-job. You could also take his bits to the Temple to do it there.

"Actually Jax, call a litter. Can someone get me a sheet to wrap him in? I will take him to the temple for the ceremony. I'll send word when all is ready" I say to the Cygnets around.

I stop a town guard on the way, not far from the Row. "There's a bit of an incident occurring at Desolation Row, you know where the actors live? Yeah, I heard raised voices and weeping."

The guard stares at (and ogles) you, but since you are so richly equipped, he does not molest you.
"Yes, sir," he says, "we'll look into it."
As Belu brings in one of the blankets from the prop room, cringing at the sight of Petronius' bits, you, Kestal, hear a bit of commotion in the courtyard.
It is a guard, coming in. "We got word of a disturbance here?"

While carefully wrapping the body of Petronius up I say over my shoulder "A man has been murdered. I am taking his body to the temple of Alaxton for proper rites."

"Yes, Haruspex," says the guard.
(Perc+Empathy)
Belu is trying to comfort Melius, who is weeping.
"Who will play the role of the owner of the gambling den in 'Thief of Hearts' now?"
