Sorry if I'm being dense. A physical mark or figurative corruption of my flesh/spirit by the horn? And why does he say he would slay me if I did not have the mark? Why not slay me because of the mark?

You see no physical mark on you. Your skin is as beautiful and as unblemished as ever. Why he says he would slay you if you did not have the mark, you do not know.

Do I still feel a connection with the holy symbol I have or do I seem to be disconnected from it? To the high priest: "To what 'Mark' do you refer? I merely seek understanding and if I have erred I will make it right!"

The strange thing is that you feel no different.
The priest's eyes grow ever more wild. "Begone!" he says, blasting the floor before you with a lightning bolt, sending you flying, uninjured, out the door and into the wild sea.
