Rajit, firstborn son of Rajanan, son of Rajanna, son of Rajankanya, son of Rajakumar, son of Rajendran, son of Rajeshwar, son of Rajeshram, son of Sank, son of Sanu, son of Seif, son of Param, son of Daruk, son of Havih (the offering), son of Wattan, son of Rajika (the disobedient) steps away from the circle of Druids. He has always been proud to be a Spear of the Shezazi but never as proud as this day. There is some trepidation as he considers leaving Sundel behind but he is reassured as he picks up his well-worn gear: small pack, two hand-axes (a great tool for chopping wood, clearing space or for defending oneself), two knives (a must-have basic tool), bolas for capturing small game and a spear for hunting and defense. He dons well-oiled studded leather and a heavy cloak (for the unseasonable cold). He steps out alone, as he has so many times before, untroubled at the isolation. He was raised to travel, hide, hunt and survive on his own. As he takes his first steps north he sings softly, in a surprisingly melodic voice, a song of beginnings.

You consult the map given to you by the Shezazi druids, a velum guide incredibly detailed within Sundelia's natural borders and yet still detailed enough beyond. There is no path the way you're going, for the Grorekathi and Jarad caravans travel mostly in the east and sometimes the interior of Norivea, the west being untamed and uninhabited wilderness. This is the path you take, the one never traveled, and the passing of days is only unending night, a situation that unsettles you more than it would a merchant or farmer, for though you are not a druid, you still feel the earth groan under the unbalance of it all.

When it seems safe to do so I sing quietly to myself to keep my nerves at bay. At other times I make sure to listen carefully to the earth and animals around. With the balance upset I need to be able to hear, see and feel the new rhythms of nature. I can only imagine that one of the reasons I'm so unsettled is that the world around me has become foreign. My subconscious is probably picking up the fact that nothing is the same in nature.

"Days" pass but you do not feel alone, for the trees and wolves are your friends, keeping you company but also complaining about the unbalance in the world. Kailos is dying! So you pick up the pace, cross frozen rivers, climb mountains, stride through regions where no man has ever stepped foot, and finally you come to once-cultivated lands. You start to see people huddled around fires, their grim faces lit, their starving bellies growling. You enter a northern forested region and following a mighty yet now frozen river come to an ancient stone bridge at the southern end of which stands a stopover hamlet of just a few buildings. One has smoke billowing out of the chimney, and the glow of a warm fire shines out of its windows. Over the door swings a battered sign which reads "The Hooded Falcon".

I crouch at the edge of the town attempting to blend in with the landscape to watch for a bit. I've not interacted with many outside my homeland and would like to try to get a sense of this place before I approach.

It's not long before you see the most beautiful red-headed male you've ever seen traipse into the inn, and his loud singsong voice reaches your ear even though the door is closed. Could this be one of the Elunians you're supposed to meet up with?

Is the town rural enough that I have a good chance of getting closer without being seen? [player speak: non-natural environment cuts hide in shadows and move silently by 1/2 and if that's the case I probably won't bother trying]

It's not a town. It's a collection of a few buildings next to a bridge. It's in the middle of the forest, so as natural as you can get.

No one is watching anyway, so you get to the door without being noticed.

I stay a good bit away from the door and take in the sights and sounds.

You hear music. That Elunian who went inside must be playing the lute you saw strapped to his back. Everyone seems to be making merry.

Seems safe enough. I'll hazard going inside. I'll try to find a table in an unobtrusive location.
