"I had never sung or acted on the stage before, always happy to just write and direct. But for the play and the Necropolis, as you know, I had to act the part of the Tarisceana. It was a beautiful, thrilling experience, actually, but in light of my turning, the whole theater experience in the Necropolis fades from memory a bit."

"I can imagine. I'm sure what followed was traumatic and didn't lend itself to remembering what immediately preceded. I'm sorry you went through that Caoimhghin. Well, sorry on one hand anyway. Do you think you'll act again?"

"I don't know. I'm not really an actor. That's definitely not my calling. And I don't want other considerations to take away from my poetry. That's where my passion lies. When I went to the ThornRose Manor, I wrote a sonnet for the lady of the house, and she praised my verse."

"Your writing will now be praised in Nirrion and the Necropolis. That has to feel good."

"Well, I hope selfishly that it is not too soon. I very much enjoy your friendship. Outside of the temple and my home, you and Anak Sa'ir are my only diversions." I smile at him and squeeze his shoulder.

"Your death will come soon, and I still plan to be in Nirrion when the bones of your grandchildren have turned to dust." I chuckle. "And yet when I return to the Necropolis, one might from a certain point of view still call that soon."

"Yes, different perspectives and all that." I pause. "Grandchildren." I sigh. "I suppose I should look into quadding myself. It worries me that the only thread of our family rests in Fabius' life. One life seems too fragile."

"You must do what you think is right, of course, but if I were a nobleman with a grand name such as yours, I would have quadded long ago to secure my family name."

"You know, I think you may be right. I may have to begin looking. I'll have to speak with Lucius and write a letter to Claudius to help my search."
