The politics of the play are monarchial, clear as Nistaran's own sun.
You are able to find two noblemen in the audience. You do not recognize them personally, but their togas give away their identities. Since you do not recognize them, they are likely to be, as you are, the younger sons, the ones with the time to go out to plays on a working day. And they are quite noble, as one you suspect to be from the Melil house--a consular house!--and the other from the Lison house, another of the most influential families...

Am I able to gauge their reaction to the play?

(Roll Perc+Empathy, but the difficult is 8 instead of 6 due to the distance involved, and to the fact you're not part of their conversation.)

(Total of 2 successes. Well done on a roll like that!)
You cannot get details, of course, but you are able to glean that both the Melil and the Lison nobles are enjoying the play immensely.
If the subject matter bothers them, it is not getting in the way of their pleasure.

I make sure to remember as much of their features as I can.

(The play progresses, but we'll not conclude until Anak-Sa'ir has been able to act. Then we can end the play, the audience will be up and moving.)

You are absolutely certain of the play's quality. It is quite an amazingly well-done piece, especially considering its slight plot. The poetry fairly dances, and if anyone in Nirrion could give be a genuine rival to your friend Caoimhghin, it is this playwright.
You also notice that the actors in this troupe, which numbers ten, based on the players you see in this performance, are extremely skilled.
You notice your ... person of interest several times over the course of the play, and once he seems to be right in the empty seat on the other side of you. But never does he speak.

After the play, I try to use my charms and whatnot to get close to the playwright, for I've a notion the men he was sitting and flirting with are the owners or managers of the Bosan.

[1,5,1,9,4,5,10,6 success whew!] I'm more than a little annoyed at how much interference is being run between me and Maximilian.

Whether it was intentional or not, there was plenty of delay, so by the time you catch up to Maximilian Ravenus and the three men, they are not far from the door.
"Why, thank you, darling!" exclaims Ravenus. "It was just a little old thing I wrote out one afternoon when I was bored. If you're interested in something more worthwhile, perhaps you'd consider running my next play here?" He flutters his eyelashes at the men.

I step up and congratulate Ravenus on his play. "One could hardly hope for a better opening night reception!" Before he or anyone else can say anything, I let my hair down and shake out my red tresses.

(Perc+Empathy)
Ravenus holds out his hand to you to take. "I am glad to see that my little play has drawn in visitors from so far away!"
