Detecting no threat, Aethyl quietly retrieves his arrow, and with Drusinicus' help moves the body of the thief off into the trees.
He inspects the face, arms, and clothing of the man, seeking clues of any sort, lest they run into his companions in future.

There are no heraldric badges or markings on this man. He is a cutpurse, a thief who preys upon the travelers of his caravan road. And clearly he has fallen on hard times as food is scarce and marks are fewer. He has some grimy coins, an ill-kept knife, and a pouch with a different kind of root in it.

Aethyl takes the pouch, leaves the rest, and heads back into the inn with Drusinicus. He aims to study the root when he has an opportunity, and to compare it with the one given to Drusinicus.

The morning following the ugliness in the common room of the inn, Aethyl makes his way to Drusinicus' room, and waits until he hears stirring. knocking quietly, he enters, and sits down gravely on the floor.
"Drusinicus, my friend, we need to talk. There are some things that I have kept from you, for the good of all, yet I fear it has come back to work harm. "
In veiled language he asks how much the gladiator remembers of the previous evening, and explains what was spoken and, in the most veiled way, how painful were his words to Mairwyn.

Still a bit groggy and hungover, Drusinicus rises from his slumber to greet his friend. "What is this urgency you wish to share with me?"
